What can we expect? What is your process like?

I bring an editorial background rooted in visual storytelling, specializing in environmental portraiture. My goal is to create images that reflect the beauty of humanity and relationships while fulfilling your unique vision. As a former photojournalist, I’m experienced in working with dynamic and unusual scenarios.

All sessions begin with a brief call or Zoom meeting to discuss your vision, goals, and logistics. Afterward, I’ll provide a simple contract outlining deliverables and terms. Payment is required in full before the session.

Can we have the RAW files?

No. RAW files represent incomplete work. Processing and editing are integral to the final product I deliver.

What is a personal usage license?

A personal usage license outlines how images may be used. While PNW Portraiture retains copyright, personal usage allows you to make prints, share images with friends and family, and post on social media in perpetuity for non-commercial purposes.

What is a professional usage license?

Professional usage licenses vary based on your needs, which we’ll discuss during the consultation. Standard licenses for business sessions include marketing use for websites, social media, digital platforms, and PR purposes. Copyright remains with PNW Portraiture and may not be transferred to third parties, except for PR placement tied to your business.

What happens after the session?

Your gallery will be ready within two weeks of your session (often sooner). You’ll receive a link via email to view, download, and share your full gallery of digital images. This password-protected gallery and will always be available (there is no expiration date). If you wish, you may order prints directly from the gallery.

What if the weather is bad?

Weather is an important consideration—welcome to the Pacific Northwest! While cloudy days provide ideal lighting for photography, conditions like heavy rain, strong winds, fog, smoke, or extreme heat may impact our session. I keep a close eye on the forecast and will reach out if adjustments are needed. Together, we’ll decide whether to reschedule, tweak the timing, or choose an alternate location to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos.

Can we make prints from our digital images?

Absolutely! Your session includes high-resolution digital images. You can download them and use the vendor of your choice for prints, or conveniently order prints directly through your online gallery.

When will we receive our gallery?

Your gallery will be delivered via email within two weeks of your session. Once you receive the link, you can download your images and start sharing them immediately.

Do you shoot weddings?

I do not photograph weddings or events.

I am looking for a different photo shoot than what is offered. Can you help?
